Tremblor: A 4.7 magnitude earthquake jolts Andaman and Nicobar Islands
New Delhi: An earthquake with a magnitude intensity of 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted the Campbell Bay region of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) shared a seismograph on Twitter, highlighting the affected areas.
“Earthquake of magnitude 4.7 occurred on May 11, 2022, 10:57 am IST on latitude 4.64 and longitude 95.23 with a depth of 80km located 301km SSE of Campbell Bay, Andaman and Nicobar island, India,” the NCS tweeted.
A 4.4 magnitude on the Richter scale had struck the Campell Bay region of the Andaman and Nicobar Island on May 09, 2022.
The NCS had informed, “Earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred on May 09, 2022, 01:11 IST on latitude 7.72 and longitude 94.19 with a depth of 10km located 85km NNE of Campbell Bay, Andaman and Nicobar island, India.”
