New Delhi: The trouble for the people of Shanghai increased as supermarkets in the city have closed due to lockdown. Over 26 million residents in Shanghai continue to scramble to secure food.

On Wednesday, The Shanghai authority on the strict lockdown said, “Government would not consider lifting restrictions until the latest citywide Covid-19 testing program completed and the results evaluated.”

According to the media report, Several compounds have been locked down for more than two weeks and residents have grown frustrated with the restrictions, testing requirements, and availability of food and other necessities. Many have called for asymptomatic Covid-19 cases to be allowed to quarantine at home, and policies that separate coronavirus-positive children from their parents have drawn fire.

Wu Qianyu, an official with the city’s health commission, told a briefing on Wednesday that Shanghai was in a “race against time” against the worst outbreak since the pandemic broke out two years ago.

Many experts, however, said that China’s Wuhan is the origin place of covid-19, and the spread of the virus began from that place. On the allegation of the world, China has reacted very strictly and spoiled its relations with many countries – including India, the USA, and Australia.

Medical experts have also suggested that the world should be more alert to the spread of covid in China.
