A UK Clothing Brand Unveils Virtual Model

New Delhi: A United Kingdom-based fashion retailer brand, titled Pretty Little Thing, unveiled its first virtual model through social media platforms. It is the first company to introduce a model for the metaverse.

The Spokesperson of Pretty Little Thing told the media, “The introduction of our first virtual model marks PLT’s first step into the metaverse. We recognize that our Gen-Z customers are fascinated by the virtual world, but this move is not intended to replace our current models, which can be found across our website.”

Sharing the images of the model on their social media handle, the brand asked followers to suggest a suitable name for the model. The faux model created a stir on social media and garnered mixed reactions.

Though certain people welcomed the move, most followers found the model unsettling. Some people noted that the model would fail to provide an accurate idea of how one will appear.

The model is designed to evolve over time and will soon display a spectrum of emotions, making it real and relatable to customers. However, the brand assured to retain human models across all e-commerce platforms.
