Tremblor: A 3.9 magnitude earthquake jolts Mizoram
New Delhi: A mild earthquake measuring a magnitude intensity of 3.9 on the Richter scale jolted the Indian state of Mizoram around 12 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) shared a seismograph on Twitter, highlighting the affected regions. The department found the epicentre to be located nearly 20 kms West-Northwest (WNW) of the Champhai district in Mizoram on Tuesday.
“Earthquake of magnitude 3.9 occurred on August 16, 2022 at 12:41 IST on latitude 23.52 and longitude 93.14 with a depth of 10km located 20 km WNWof Champhai, Mizoram, India,” the NCS tweeted.
No reports of damages or casualties surfaced so far.
