Kerala reports more than half of India’s new Covid-19 cases

Kochi: The Union Health Ministry on Tuesday morning informed that the South India State ‘Kerala’ reported more than half of India’s 13058 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

This is India’s lowest single-day rise in cases in 231 days.

Kerala reported 6676 new Covid-19 cases on Monday.

According to the latest data updated by the government, the death toll in the nation climbed to 452,454 with 164 fresh fatalities, while the active cases have declined to 183,118, the lowest in 227 days. The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 30,000 for 25 straight days and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 114 consecutive days now.

Ministry further said that “A decrease of 6,576 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The active cases comprise 0.54 percent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.14 percent, the highest since March 2020,”

India crossed the grim milestone of two crores on May 4 and three crores on June 23. India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed the 98 Crore landmark milestone so far.
