New Delhi: The RoundGlass Punjab football club (FC) ousted Sudeva Delhi FC in a gruelling I-League championship at the Naihati Stadium, Kolkata, on Saturday, April 02, 2022.
The match began with Delhi’s Sreya’s Valiyaveettu Gopalan leading the team with a score in the 5th minute, followed by Abhijit Sarkar’s shot in the 39th minute. On the other hand, Punjab tried to gain momentum and adopt a defense strategy.
The second half began with Punjab pitching aggressively against Delhi. Punjab’s Vanlalzuidika Chhakchhuak scored the first goal for the team in the 46th minute, followed by Sumeet Passi shooting a net in the 49th minute.
The match turned intense as both keepers successfully managed to save nets. Meanwhile, Punjab’s Souvik Das emerged victorious as he scored the third goal in the 55th minute. Delhi lost the match by a close margin of 2-3 points.
