Disney re-introduces Captain Jack Sparrow in light show after 4 years

Mumbai: Disney re-introduced Captain Jack Sparrow’s face projection in the light show of  Disneyland  Paris castle after the character was removed from the show in 2018.

Disney had removed the character from film Pirates of the Caribbean and distanced itself from Hollywood actor Johnny Depp four days after his ex-wife Amber Heard’s article as victim of domestic violence published in 2018.

The audience cheered on seeing the projection of Captain Jack Sparrow’s face which is followed by his famous dialogue from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Several scenes of Depp, who plays the character in the franchise, were projected along with the theme music. The light show also features fireworks and fountains.

This is the first time the actor’s face appears in Disneyland after 2018. Though fans were ecstatic about the re-introduction, they demanded Disney to apologize to the actor and reinstate him in the upcoming instalment of the popular franchise.

The jury found Johnny Depp and Amber Heard equally guilty of defamation during the final verdict on June 01, 2022, with Heard levied with greater compensation.
