New Delhi: The German researcher team in its research of coronavirus – found that Variant forms of Covid-19, which were first reported in South Africa and Brazil are less efficiently inhibited by antibodies from recovered patients and vaccinated individuals.

Stefan Pohlmann, co-author of the study said that “This is worrisome because the rapid spread of variants that might not be efficiently inhibited by antibodies could undermine our current vaccination strategy.”

The latest study was done by the German researcher team on coronavirus – published in the Journal cell, in which it explained that “Recovery from Covid-19 as well as vaccination may offer only incomplete protection against these mutant virus forms.”

Jan Munch, Another co-author of the study said that “These variants were less well inhibited by antibodies from convalescent or vaccinated individuals, they partially bypassed the neutralizing effect of the antibodies.”

The researchers said that “These virus variants have mutations in the spike protein — the structure on the surface of the virus that is responsible for attachment to host cells. In order for the virus to enter a cell, they said it must first attach to the host cell surface using its spike protein.

Rising coronavirus cases in the European countries could be another challenge for all European countries in the future. Germany urges its people to stay at home to prevent the spread of coronavirus and the Paris government announcing lockdowns to curb the transmission of the deadliest coronavirus in the country.

The Europe-based experts already suggested that “Improvement in vaccination program is the only way at present to save the European people from the coronavirus. All nations government should increase its vaccination program.”
