New Delhi: at least five people have been killed in three explosions in Afghanistan’s Kabul on Saturday. Three separate explosions injured two people.

Spokesperson of Kabul police Ferdaws Faramarz said that “the first two explosions took place 15 minutes apart and a third targeting a police vehicle took place two hours later.”

Investigation is underway and police are trying to detect the reason behind the blasts. No group immediately claimed responsibility.

A statement given by the Kabul police said that – anti social elements had used sticky bombs to disrupt the peace in Kabul. Sticky bombs are explosive devices with magnets that are attached to vehicles and detonated by remote control or timer.

Anti-elements targeted cars for the second explosion in a north-western Kabul. This car is used by the national army soldiers for travelling. Second explosion in Kabul killed two soldiers and a civilian passerby was also killed.

The third explosion destroyed a police car in western Kabul killing two police officers.

Meanwhile, the first blast targeted a civilian car wounding both travellers inside the vehicle.

Explosion activities and targeted killings in Afghanistan have been increased reportedly in the last few months.

The Islamic State group’s local affiliate has claimed responsibility for some of the attacks, but many go unclaimed, with the government putting the blame on the Taliban. Some local terrorist groups have denied responsibility for most of the attacks.
