IMD predicts heavy widespread rainfall over North India
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy widespread showers over most parts of Northern India on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
Informing about the showers, the IMD wrote, “Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Jammu and Kashmir and West Uttar Pradesh during July 28-29; over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh during July 28-31; over East Uttar Pradesh during July 28 to August 01, and over Rajasthan on July 28, 2022.”
Talking about isolated very heavy rainfall, the department wrote, “Isolated very heavy rainfall also very likely over Punjab, north Haryana-Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh on July 28 and July 29; and over Uttarakhand during July 28-31, 2022.”
Meanwhile, talking about monsoon conditions in the NE, the IMD said, “Widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during next five days.”
