NATO should say they are not accepting Ukraine because they are afraid of Russia: Volodymyr Zelensky
New Delhi: the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) cannot add Ukraine to the alliance because they are afraid of Russia, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday.
“NATO should either say now that they are accepting us, or openly say they are not accepting us because they are afraid of Russia – which is true,” Zelensky said in an interview.
During the interview, Zelensky reiterated that he is “ready for negotiations” with Russian President Vladimir Putin but warned that if they fail that would mean that this is a third World War.”
“It is important for me that people see us defending our country, but with a human face. “We do not torture people,” Zelensky added. Putting forward a brave face Zelensky further said that his country would not surrender to the invading Russian forces.
US President Joe Biden discussed Russia’s “brutal tactics” against Ukraine with European leaders with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
