- Ayushman Bharat Divas is celebrated on 30th April, every year in India.
- This mission has basically two goals – Promote health and wellness of poor and to provide insurance benefit to poor people.
- The scheme was launched in April-2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Scheme runs by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and wish to start 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centre by year 2022.
- Ayushman Bharat is largest health insurance cover in the World.
- Under this scheme, beneficiary family gets health cover of 5 lakh Rs.
- The beneficiaries are chosen from the Socio-Economic Census Database.
- Along with this scheme, one more scheme is Ayushman Mitra which provides employment to the unemployed.
- The youth employed under this scheme will receive salary of Rs. 15,000 and also receive incentive of Rs. 50 per beneficiary.
