Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu Inaugurated A Vistadome Coach-Train in Vizag
New Delhi: On Monday, Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu flagged off the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger Train at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh. The train includes Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) Rake upgraded Vistadome coaches.
Ministers Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, M.V.V. Satyanarayana, and Archana Joshi also attended the event.
“I am delighted that the Indian Rail Ministry decided to introduce the state-of-the-art LHB-mounted Vistadome coaches between Visakhapatnam-Araku from today. With the 360-degree viewing system, I am sure the journey by this train will be an unforgettable experience,” Venkaiah Naidu said during the inauguration.
“I must also compliment the Indian Railways for rising to the occasion when covid-19 impacted the nation. From deploying covid care isolation coaches and oxygen expresses to running Shramik special trains, the Indian Railways geared up its entire machinery,” he added.
The Vice President lauded the Railways for the in-house development and production of PPEs, hand sanitizers, masks, and ensuring medical equipment and general transportation of goods, and said, “Shortages of goods and food stocks are largely minimized due to this proactive stance. Thus, the Railways have not only helped the nation to effectively tackle the pandemic but proved to be an essential lifeline in times of need.”
He urged people to keep the railway trains, coaches, and stations clean under the Swacch Bharat Mission and praised the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s decision of incorporating the Vistadome coaches in the scenic Visakhapatnam-Araku route trains.
Talking about the tourism potential of the route, Naidu said, “The 360-degree viewing system of the Vistadome coaches will make the journey an unforgettable experience for the passengers.”
