Terror incidents may rise in Pakistan in next two months: Minister of Pakistan

New Delhi: The Interior Minister of Pakistan on January 27 warned the government of Pakistan about the rising terror incidents in the country. Interior Minister said, “terror incidents could rise in the country during the next two months,”

Sheikh Rashid highlighted the nation’s capability of fighting against terrorists and having the best intelligence system.

Appreciating the positive role of the Afghan Taliban, the interior minister said that they asked the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to refrain from subversive activities in Pakistan.

Rasheed, who had advocated for peace talks with the TTP, said that the ceasefire violation by the group closed the doors to further negotiations.

“TTP ended the accord themselves. [The government] engaged in talks [with the group] a couple of times but no results,” he said, adding that their conditions were not acceptable.

“We offered TTP to lay their arms and join the national mainstream, but they violated the ceasefire,” he added.

However, Ten soldiers of security forces were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Kech, Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to details, terrorists fired at security forces check-post in Kech, Balochistan on the night of January 25 and 26. During intense exchange of firing, one terrorist was killed and several others injured. While repulsing terrorists’ fire raid, 10 soldiers embraced martyrdom.

“earlier this month 248 officers and jawans of security forces were martyred in different operations during the year ending on December 31, 2021.” ISPR Director General Major General Babar Iftikhar said.
