New Delhi: The government of India may send fuel to the island country Sri Lanka again in the next few days as a help, said the Colombo-based sources. The financial crisis has risen in India’s southern neighbor country as forex reserves slummed drastically in the last couple of months. Lanka has received more than 400,000 tonnes of fuel from India in the last few months.

According to the prediction of sources, India may extend assistance to Sri Lanka again and send two ships each of diesel and petrol to the neighboring nation facing an acute shortage of fuel. One ship may reach Sri Lanka between July 13 and 15 and another between July 29 and 31. The last one could reach the island nation between August 10 and 15.

The Sri Lankan media has reported that The current diesel stocks in Sri Lanka will only be used for essential services until the arrival of a new shipment. About 33,000 metric tonnes of gas will arrive in Sri Lanka in July, and 100,000 metric tonnes of gas will be procured for the next four months.
