Seven days Institutional quarantine compulsory for international travellers in Maharashtra
Mumbai: The Maharashtra government made seven days of Institutional quarantine compulsory for international travelers arriving from ‘High-risk’ countries. The international passengers arriving from ‘high-risk’ countries will have to undergo three RT-PCR tests in their 7-day quarantine.
The Maharashtra government comes into action after many countries report new covid-19 variant cases in the country. It was also reported that the passengers will have to take three Covid-19 tests in the seven days of quarantine. The passengers also will have to pay for the quarantine at respective hotels. The new guidelines would be in effect immediately.
According to the statement released by the Maharashtra authority “The restrictions imposed by the Government of India guidelines dated November 28, 2021, as well as future restrictions if any, shall act as minimum restrictions to be imposed.”
Compulsory RT-PCR tests would be done at the airport of all passengers. Those passengers who are found positive will be shifted to a hospital immediately. For domestic travelers, a negative RT-PCR report 48 hours before the flight is required.
Researchers in South Africa and around the world are conducting studies to better understand many aspects of Omicron and will continue to share the findings of these studies as they become available.
