New Delhi: The Brampton Municipal Corporation of Canada has changed the name of one of its parks. The surprising thing is that this park has now been named Shri Bhagavad Gita Park. It has been told that in the coming time, idols of Lord Krishna and arjuna will also be installed in this park. Earlier this park was named Troyers Park. On the occasion of the renaming of the park, Hindus residing in the neighborhood gathered in large numbers and appreciated the decision of Brampton Municipal Corporation.

According to the report, this park is spread over 3.75 acres in Ward No VI of Brampton Municipal Corporation. As per the plan, the park will be revamped and have idols of the two main characters of the Gita, Lord Krishna, and Arjuna, apart from a few other Hindu deities. Appreciating this initiative of renaming the park, Haryana Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the park will carry forward the message of love and harmony of universal brotherhood as taught in the holy Bhagavad Gita.

The Mayor of Brampton said – we believe in the teachings of Gita.

Speaking at the event, Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said, “I believe in the teachings of the Gita. We are very grateful to the Hindu community and this park is a symbol of that friendship. Gita Park is probably the only park outside India named after the holy book Bhagavad Gita.

Earlier, a similar park in Brampton was also named ‘Ahmadiya Park’. Brampton South mp Sonia Sidhu has also welcomed the decision.
