One in two Indian adults experienced cybercrime

- Report titled as “2021 Norton Cyber-Safety Insights” recently published by The NortonLIfeLock.
- According to the above report 59% Indians (One in Two adults) have faced cyber crime in last one year.
- Out of ten, seven Indian believes that work from home or remote work environment has made it easier for hackers to commit the cyber crimes.
- Surprisingly 52% adults do not know how to protect from cyber crime in India.
- 90% People using online transactions are taking proactive steps to protect their personal data or information.
- Major segment (42%) believes that protecting privacy in digital world is not possible at all.
- Due to COVID-19 people are more dependent on digital platforms so 66% believes that they are more vulnerable to cyber crimes.
- Out of total cyber crime victims, 52% people seek help from their friends where as 47% people contacted the company to resolve the matter.
- Indian government has launched I4C (Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre) to manage cyber crime related issues.
