National Cinema Day 2022: Indian multiplexes to offer movie tickets for Rs. 75
New Delhi: The Indian multiplexes have decided to charge Rs. 75 for movie tickets on September 16, 2022. The decision was announced by the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) on account of National Cinema Day 2022.
The National Cinema Day falls annually on September 16, 2022. The MAI also announced that the entire country will celebrate the day with country’s major multiplex chains charging movie tickets to audience for a rate of Rs. 75 only.
Making the announcement on Twitter, the MAI wrote, “Cinemas come together to celebrate National Cinema Day 2022 on September 16, to offer movies for just Rs. 75. National Cinema Day will be held at more than 4000 participating screens and will include cinema screens of the PVR, INOX, Carnival, Cinepolis, Miraj, Citypride, Asian, Mukta A2, Movie time, Wave, M2K, Delite, and many others.”
The Association also shared a Press Release on social media which read, “The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) and Cinemas across India welcome moviegoers to spend a day at the movies with celebratory admission price of Rs. 75 to mark National Cinema Day on September 16.”
The day celebrates the successful reopening of cinemas post the corona virus led pandemic in 2020. “The day celebrates a successful reopening of cinemas and is a thank you to the moviegoers who made this happen,” it read.
The one-day discount will be available at more than 4,000 participating theatres. According to the MAI, participating theatres will provide details of the scheme on their respective social media handles.
