Maharashtra: Hanuman Chalisa Played in Loudspeaker During Early Morning Azan in Mumbai
Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers have played Hanuman Chalisa during early morning Azan in Mumbai. The MNS chief Raj Thackeray had given a deadline to the Maharashtra government to remove loudspeakers from mosques by May 3.
On Tuesday, The MNS Chief said, “I appeal to all Hindus that tomorrow (on May 4) if you hear the loudspeakers blaring the azan; in those very places, play the Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers. That’s when they will realize the hindrance of these loudspeakers!”
According to a media report, In Aurangabad, the Maharashtra police has registered an offense against 53-year-old Raj Thackeray over his “provocative” speech on the use of loudspeakers in mosques. Raj was booked under sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 116 (abetment of an offense punishable with imprisonment if the offense is not committed), and 117 (abetting commission of an offense by the public or by more than 10 persons) of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Maharashtra Police Act.
However, Raj Thackeray on Wednesday (May 4, 2022) shared an old clip of Bal Thackeray saying that ‘he will remove loudspeakers from mosques when his government is formed.’
