  • Above cost is close to 0.36% of Indian GDP.
  • In Phase-3 of vaccination, Government of India announced that person above the age of 18 will eligible to get vaccine against COVID-19.
  • With this strategy, the total size of population eligible for vaccination will be 84.19 crores.
  • To vaccinate this huge population central government will incur 20,870 crores Rs. and state governments shall incur rest of the amount.
  • The procurement cost of vaccine is split between state and central government.
  • To procure vaccine, central government will spend 0.12% of GDP and state government will spend 0.24% of SGDP.
