Indian Super League: FC Goa beats Chennaiyin FC 5-0

New Delhi: Football Club (FC) Goa beat Chennaiyin Football Club (FC) 5-0 in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Tilak Maidan Stadium, Goa, on Wednesday, February 09, 2022.

The match began with Goa’s Aibanbha Dohling giving a cross to Makan Chothe, who made a left-footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom right corner in the 5th minute. Goa’s Jorge Ortíz struck a left-footed shot from very close range to the top left corner in the 19th minute. Goa had a two-point lead while CFC struggled to defend.

Though Goa’s Edu Bedia gave a cross to Dohling in the 25th minute, CFC keeper saved Dohling’s header in the top center of the goal. Goa’s Alberto Noguera’s right-footed shot from outside the box was saved in the 34th minute.  However, Ortíz right-footed a shot from the left side of the box went straight to the bottom right corner in the 40th minute.

The frustrated CFC tried to possess the ball but in vain. CFC’s Narayan Das shot into his own goal, and gave another point to the opponents in the 45th minute. The first half ended with FC Goa leading with 4-0.

The second half began with CFC’s Reagan Singh assisting Ariel Borysiuk in shooting a right-footed from outside the box. Goa keeper blocked the attempt in the 47th minute. Dohling assisted Ortíz, who scored another goal for the team. Ortíz made a right-footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner in the 52nd minute. FC Goa won the match with a whopping 5-0.
