Srinagar: Amid rising coronavirus cases in several states of the country, 900 travelers tested Coronavirus positive at the Srinagar airport in March. This figure is the highest since the pandemic began last year, the report said.

The official data shows that March witnessed the highest number of cases recorded in a single month ever since air traffic was resumed in May last year.

The second-highest number of positive cases at the airport was reported in September last year with 793 passengers having tested positive.

The latest statement given by the official said that “Coronavirus cases are increasing because arrivals of passengers are increasing.”

“In September last year we had 3000-4000 total passenger footfall but right now we witness almost 8000-9000 passengers,” they said.

The airport authority of Jammu and Kashmir checking all travellers and travellers are not allowed to leave the airport until their test report is received.
