Tennis: Carlos Alcaraz reaches the last 16 of the Madrid Open
New Delhi, April 29: Spanish youngster Carlos Alcaraz, world number three, reached the last 16 of the Madrid Open after beating Brazilian Thiago Seyboth on Sunday, the media reported.
Defending champion Alcaraz won 6-3,6-3 against world no.63 Seyboth.
“Today was the test of fire, no discomfort, feeling spectacular. From here, we will be getting better,” said Alcaraz.
He could not play in the Barcelona Open and Monte Carlo Masters due to a right arm injury.
In the following match, Alcaraz will play with German Lennard Struff whom he defeated at the 2023 Madrid Open final.
