New Delhi: India on Sunday requested Pakistan to sincerely examine the killing of two Sikh businessmen in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and take strict motion toward those liable for the “deplorable” incident. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson mentioned India has registered its robust protest with Pakistan on the continued “targeting” of members of the minority neighborhood in that nation.

The two Sikh businessmen — Saljeet Singh (42) and Ranjeet Singh (38) — had been shot useless on Sunday by unidentified gunmen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Bagchi mentioned India expects that the Pakistan authorities would take care of the protection, safety, and well-being of its minority communities.

“We have seen the reviews on the brutal killing of two Sikh merchants by unidentified armed males in Peshawar. Sadly, this isn’t the primary such case or an uncommon prevalence,” Bagchi mentioned.

According to police, each of the businessmen died on the spot after being attacked by two bike-borne assailants in the morning.

Meanwhile, the Islamic State’s Khorasan unit claimed via its propaganda news service ‘Amaaq’ that it carried out the attack targeting two Sikhs in Peshawar.
