Doctor Strange 2: Benedict Cumberbatch reacts to Tom Cruise being part of the film
Mumbai: The most awaited Marvel film, Doctor Strange 2, focuses on the concept of variants and a multi-dimensional universe, with a possibility of multiple actors starring in the sequel as variations of existing characters or reprising roles from previous franchises.
Hollywood actor Tom Cruise is one of the rumored cameos in film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Hollywood actor Benedict Cumberbatch reacted to Cruise’s presence in the film. When asked if Tom Cruise is a part of the film, Cumberbatch replied, “Tom Cruise? Yeah, he is in every scene you haven’t seen in the trailer. It is the biggest kept secret.”
Addressing fan speculations regarding the film Cumberbatch said that the film genuinely belongs to the audience. “This franchise, you know, belongs to them (fans) far more than it does to the actors. That is, in a sense, its own thing,” he said.
Benedict revealed how the film is doing well in pre-sales with immense support from the serial storytelling of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In India, the advance bookings for Doctor Strange 2 eclipsed those of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
A report by Box Office India stated, “The way the advance is going, especially at the bigger multiplexes, it will probably look like a 30 crore net opening day by the time the advance ends. The issue may be slower movement on the day as advance for this film has been open for almost a month. Besides, it may not have the mass patronage of the Avengers movies or Spiderman films which may keep the film under 30 crore net.”
