Property: Every land to be registered in Haryana under “Meri Fasal Mera Byora”
New Delhi: The Haryana Government has said the farmers will have to compulsorily register their land on the government’s official portal to ensure the smooth functioning of farming schemes and avoid land inheritance and other land-related issues.
State Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has ordered land registrations to begin on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal. The district administrations have been directed to train more than 6,200 employees to map each land acre through physical verifications with a zero-error approach.
The portal will display a dashboard of complete farming details in each village and also register vacant lands to keep the government updated on the number and types of crops sown in a season, thereby ensuring the implication of schemes by the Agriculture and Horticulture Department.
Haryana’s Additional Chief Secretary (Agricultural) Dr. Sumit Mishra said that “Currently 6,205 employees of agriculture, panchayat, horticulture, irrigation, and State Agricultural Marketing Board departments have been engaged in land-mapping across the state to achieve a 100 percent target of land registration.”
“Farmers have always been focused on sowing pulses, oilseeds, and fodder. However, under the new scheme of Direct Seeder Rice, farmers can cultivate paddy with less water consumption and at cheaper rates,” he added.
Under the Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana, the Haryana Government targets 2 lakh acres of land to be paddy-free this year with alternative crops to be sown over 87,000 acres of land. The farmers involved will receive an incentive amount of Rs. 7,000 per acre.
As per another scheme, alternative crops will be sown in place of bajra with an incentive amount of Rs. 4,000 per acre.
