- ULPIN means Unique Land Parcel Identification Number. This system is recently launched by GOI.
- This system will be launched in some states initially as pilot project in March-2022. These ten states are Haryana, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Sikkim, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
- ULPIN is like Aadhar card number for piece of land. It will be 14 digit alpha-numeric identification numbers.
- ULPIN will be prepared based on latitude and longitude coordinates of the land.
- The ULPIN will help to develop a land bank.
- The ULPIN system will lead India towards Integrated Land Information Management System.
- With the help of this system land records will be kept up to date.
- Not only records but all the property transactions shall be linked with this system.
- The system will make sharing of land record data across the departments easier.
