New Delhi: The Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner Denis Shapovalov lost the Qatar Open finals to Dutch player Wesley Koolhof and his partner Neal Skupski of the United Kingdom in the Doubles finals of the Qatar Open 2022 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, Doha, on Friday, February 18, 2022.

The intense match began with the Indo-Canadian pair clutching the lead as the Dutch-UK duo gained momentum. Bopanna and Shapovalov held serves and aggressively charged at the opponents. However, the Koolhof and Skupski pair pushed the match into a tiebreaker and won the opening set 7-6 (7-4).

The Koolhof-Skupski duo charged at their opponents and played long rallies in the last set. Meanwhile, Bopanna and Shapovalov made unforced errors and lost the doubles round of the Qatar Open finals 1-6.

Bopanna had earlier won the Adelaide International and Tata Open Maharashtra with compatriot Ramkumar Ramanathan in 2022. The champions received $40 720 and 250 ATP points, whereas the runners-up received $29,240 and 150 ATP points.
