New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the second Global Investor’s Meet for 287 investment projects worth over Rs 28,197 crores in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and congratulated the Jai Ram Thakur-led BJP government on Monday, for completing four years in the State.

He inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth Rs.11,000 crores, namely the Renukaji Dam project, Luhri Stage 1 Hydro Power Project, Dhaulasidh Hydro Power Project, and the Sawra-Kuddu Hydro Power Project.

Addressing a public gathering at Paddal ground in Mandi, Modi said, “A large area will directly benefit from the Renukaji Dam project on river Giri. The income generated will be spent on the development of the region.”

The PM emphasised how hydropower projects reflect an eco-friendly development and said, “From solar to hydropower, and wind power to green hydrogen, India is continuously working on utilising every renewable energy resource.”

Talking about eliminating single-use plastic, he said, “The government is working on plastic waste management along with a nationwide campaign against single-use plastics.”

“Tourists are equally responsible for keeping the Himachal clean and plastic-free. Plastic has spread everywhere, and we need to make combined efforts to stop the damage it is causing to Himachal,” the PM added.

The Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, and Union Minister Anurag Thakur also attended the event.
