New Delhi: Three more Indian Air Force aircraft – are scheduled to visit Poland, Hungary, and Romania on Wednesday to bring back Indians from Ukraine. According to the IAF officials, one C-17 Globemaster took off at 4 AM earlier today for Romania under Operation Ganga.

As part of the ‘Operation Ganga’ mission, special flights are being operated free of cost. The first such evacuation flight carrying 219 Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine landed in Mumbai on February 26. Several such flights have landed in the country so far.

After Russia’s forces launched military operations in Ukraine on February 24, the Government of India launched ‘Operation Ganga’ to bring back stranded Indian nationals from the conflict-torn Ukraine.

Meanwhile, of the hundreds of refugees gathered on the grounds of a village school in eastern Hungary, almost all were women and children who left their husbands, fathers, brothers, and sons behind to fight in Ukraine’s resistance to the deadly Russian invasion.

Russian forces escalated their attacks on crowded urban areas Tuesday, bombarding the central square in Ukraine’s second-biggest city and Kyiv’s main TV tower in what the country’s president called a blatant campaign of terror.

Russia told Kyiv residents to flee their homes and rained rockets on the city of Kharkiv. Additionally, the World Bank is preparing a $3 billion support package for Ukraine. US President Joe Biden was to say in a speech on Tuesday night that Russian President Vladimir Putin`s invasion of Ukraine was “premeditated and unprovoked.”
