New Delhi: The Goa Football Club (FC) and NorthEast United scored a 1-1 tie in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Athletic Stadium, Goa, on Friday, January 14, 2022.

NorthEast United led the match after Hernan Santana converted a free-kick in the 3rd minute. Santana made a right-footed shot to the bottom-left corner of the net. Imran Khan of United gave a pass to Deshorn Brown in the 16th minute. Brown made a left-footed shot from the centre of the box, but it hit the bar.

FC’s Alexander Jesuraj made a left-footed shot from the centre in the 28th minute. The United keeper Mirshad Michu saved from the top left corner. Both teams tried to shoot but in vain. Goa FC adopted an attacking strategy, but their attempts were either saved or stopped by the opponents.

The second half began with both teams at 1-1. Michu saved Jorge Ortiz’s shot in the 66th minute. Ortiz’s attempts were saved subsequently by opponents.  Though United’s Patrick Flottmann won a free kick in the 73rd minute, he failed to capitalize on the opportunity.
