New Delhi: As part of the India@75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, India will develop 75 projects in Nepal.
Naveen Kumar, First Secretary in the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, inaugurated one of these projects, a new building at Nepal Police School in Dhangadhi, Kailali district, on Wednesday.
The Embassy informed that these structures were built at a cost of NRs 42.26 million with financial assistance from New Delhi under the India-Nepal Development Cooperation program.
India has taken on over 523 HICDPs in Nepal since 2003, completing 467 projects, showing New Delhi’s continuous support in Nepal’s education sector.
India and Nepal also signed a virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday for the long-term supply of urea and DAP fertilizers to Kathmandu as part of a G2G agreement.
Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, Secretary (Chemical and Fertilizers), India, and Dr. Govinda Prasad Sharma, Secretary (Agriculture and Livestock Development), Nepal, signed the MoU, in the presence of Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra and others.
