Football: Messi donates his eighth Ballon to FC Barcelona Museum
New Delhi, Feb 21: Argentine football star Lionel Messi has donated his eighth Ballon d’Or to the FC Barcelona Museum.
According to a media report, he donated his eighth Ballon d’Or to his former club’s museum, which also has the other six trophies he won while playing for Barcelona from 2009 to 2015 and 2019, along with the other Ballon d’Or he won while playing for Paris Saint Germain in 2021.
Messi won his record-breaking eighth Ballon d’Or in October 2023, outperforming other nominees and defeating opponents such as Erling Haaland who won the treble, and Kylian Mbappe who played World Cup final and won
France league 1.
Lionel Messi joined FC Barcelona at the age of 13 in 2000 and left it in 2021 to join Paris Saint Germain after financial crises in FC Barcelona.
