New Delhi, Mar 13: The Saudi club Al Hilal FC, is now the first football team to win the 28th game straight in football history.
It achieved this milestone after surpassing the Welsh team which held the record after winning 27 consecutive matches since 2016.
The Al Hilal stars, including Aleksandar Mestrovic, Yassin Bono, and Neymar Jr do Santos, have won every game they played since September 21, 2023.
The club’s coach, Jorge Jesus, said: “Everyone at Al Hilal is delighted to achieve world football history by winning 28 consecutive matches. This is truly an incredible achievement and I thank everyone at the club.”
Currently, Al Hilal FC is number one in Group D of the Asian Champions League and also number one in the Saudi Pro League.
Out of the pitch, Al Hilal FC gained global popularity after roping in world football superstars, including Kalidou Koulibaly, Yassin Bono, Sergej-Milinkovic Savic, and Brazil’s star Neymar Jr do Santos.
