Cyclonic Storm Asani to further weaken during the next 12hrs: IMD
New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued fresh information regarding the developments of the impending cyclone Asani on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
“The depression, remnant of cyclonic storm Asani, over coastal Andhra Pradesh weakened into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the same region at 0830 hours IST of today, May 12, 2022. It is likely to weaken further into a Low Pressure Area during the next 12 hours,” the IMD tweeted.
The department had earlier informed regarding the weakening possibility of the cyclonic depression.
“Deep depression over coastal Andhra Pradesh remained practically stationary during last 6 hours and weakened into a Depression over the same region. It is likely to hover around the same region and weaken further into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area during next 12 hours,” the IMD wrote.
