New Delhi: The Health Authority of India on Sunday reported 42,909 cases of coronavirus. From the last few days, India reporting an average of 40 thousand cases in 24 hours.
The Union Health Ministry on Monday informed that “India saw a single-day rise of 42,909 new Covid infections which took the total tally of cases to 3,27,37,939.” Active cases registered an increase for the fifth consecutive day.
The death toll has climbed to 4,38,210 with 380 fresh fatalities.
The number of active cases has increased to 3,76,324 and comprises 1.15 percent of the total infections. The national Covid recovery rate has been recorded at 97.51 percent, the health ministry said.
The Health Authority conducted 14,19,990 Covid tests on Sunday and taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far in the country to 52,01,46,525.
The vaccination process in India is at extreme speed. A few days back – India administered vaccine doses to more than 10 million people in a single day, which was a huge milestone for the government. The Health Department of the nation is trying to vaccinate maximum people before the third wave arrives.
According to the official data – more than 630 million people have received at least one dose of vaccine.
