New Delhi: Two days after he got himself administered with a Chinese vaccine, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi tested Covid-19.

His British counterpart Boris Johnson was administered the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, media reported on Saturday.

Reports from Islamabad said Khan tested positive for Covid-19 after he received the first dose of Sinopharm.

The Pakistani PM is ‘self-isolating at home, his Special Assistant on National Health Service (NHS), Faisal Sultan said.

On March 18, Imran Khan had taken the first of the two shots of the Chinese coronavirus vaccine Sinopharm, the only vaccine currently available in Pakistan.

China had donated 500,000 doses of Sinopharm to Pakistan on February 1, enabling the country to launch a vaccination drive a day later.

The Pakistani PM received the first shot of the vaccine after the second consignment of the vaccine was delivered from China to Pakistan on March 17..

British PM Boris Johnson, 56, who is scheduled to visit India late in April, got the first jab of the AstraZeneca-developed vaccine at the same London hospital where he had been admitted in 2020 after he was infected by the coronavirus.
