New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has been closely monitoring the SW Monsoon wind systems ever since its arrival in the Indian mainland.

On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, the IMD predicted that conditions are likely to become favourable for the withdrawal of Southwest (SW) Monsoon from more parts of North-west and Central India.

The IMD took to Twitter and shared a weekly spatial rainfall distribution map that showcases the affected regions.

The map forecasted heavy rainfall in Northern, North-eastern, Central, and Southern parts of India as on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. However, the rainfall will cease to occur in the country from October 13, 2022, onwards.

Therefore, the SW monsoon will be seen concentrated in the South-eastern and Southern India before withdrawal.

Meanwhile, the IMD tweeted, “Heavy rainfall spells likely to continue over Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema during next 5 days and over Interior Karnataka during next 2 days.”

Earlier, the IMD had predicted heavy rains in the region and said on Monday, “Heavy rainfall spells over Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema during next 5 days.”

“Conditions are very likely to become favourable for withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some more parts of Northwest and Central India during next 4-5 days,” the IMD added.
