Boxing: Ngannou targets MMA return in October
New Delhi, July 24: Cameroonian boxer Francis Ngannou is planning to return to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in October in Saudi Arabia, the media reported on Wednesday.
Since January 2022, the former UFC heavyweight champion has not fought in the MMA as he spent the past two years focused on his boxing career.
Speaking to the Joe Rogan podcast, Ngannou revealed he will fight Renan Ferreira. The date of the fight will be announced soon.
“I think Renan Ferreira is the guy. It’s not finalized yet but they were talking about October 19.” Ngannou said
Ferreira has won the PFL’s 2023 heavyweight tournament and has 13 wins, three losses, and three no-contests on his record.
In his MMA career, Ngannou has 20 fights, 17 wins, and three losses.
