New Delhi: The government has achieved its target of creating 11 crore Farmer IDs across the country. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said this today while sharing a video message.
The Minister said that the target of creating 11 crore Farmer IDs by March 2027 was set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has been achieved five months ahead of schedule. Mr Chouhan informed that this target was achieved by yesterday night. He said that Farmer IDs will ensure transparent delivery of benefits under various government schemes. They will facilitate farmers in accessing bank loans, crop insurance, disaster relief assistance and selling their produce.
He added that the initiative will help ensure that benefits reach the right farmers, while the use of modern technology will make farming easier and more efficient. Mr Chouhan congratulated and thanked the officials and employees of the Central Government, as well as the state governments, union territories, and district administrations, for this achievement.
