Israel: Amid the US-Iran row, PM Modi reaches Tel Aviv on two-day official visit

New Delhi: Amid a war-like situation between the US and Iran, which may snowball across the volatile Middle East, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Tel Aviv on Wednesday on his second official visit to Israel after 2017, the media reported.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara welcomed the Indian PM at the airport. Netanyahu hugged PM Modi, who was accorded a ceremonial red-carpet welcome, and exchanged pleasantries with him.
During his visit, PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings with his Israeli counterpart, address the Knesset (Parliament), and interact with the Indian diaspora.
Before departing for Israel, PM Modi said India and Israel share a robust and multifaceted strategic partnership that has witnessed remarkable growth and dynamism, and he is looking forward to his meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu.
He said the visit comes at the invitation of his “dear friend Prime Minister Netanyahu.”
During the visit, PM Modi will also meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
