Shamshera official trailer releases on Friday
Mumbai: The makers released the most anticipated trailer of upcoming Bollywood film, Shamshera, on Friday, June 24, 2022. The film will have a theatrical release on July 22, 2022, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
The trailer is set in the fictitious city of Kaza in the year 1871. The narrator talks about an Indian leading an uprising against the British forces.
Ranbir Kapoor plays the character of Shamshera, who wields a battle-axe on a horse.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt plays a ruthless cop and antagonist, Daroga Shudh Singh, who is transferred to Kaza to bring Shamshera under control. Dutt enslaves the warrior tribe.
There is intense clash between the commoners and the authorities upon the arrival of the cop.
Ranbir is shown as a dacoit who steals from the wealthy before converting into a slave who becomes a leader to fend for his tribe and fights relentlessly for their dignity and freedom.
Ranbir Kapoor will feature in a double role as hinted in the trailer.
Directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra, Shamshera also features Vaani Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Saurabh Shukla, Ronit Roy, Tridha Choudhury, and Pitobash Tripathy in pivotal roles.
The film had been delayed several times due to the Coronvirus pandemic.
