Russia lost 4300 soldiers and 146 tanks: claims Ukraine
New Delhi: As Russia continued to attack Ukraine on the fifth consecutive day, Ukraine claimed that Russia lost more than 4300 soldiers and 146 tanks. The Russian force has suffered heavy casualties since Moscow launched its offensive against the neighbouring country.
The Ukrainian minister further stated that Russian troops lost about 146 tanks, 27 aircraft, and 26 helicopters – since the start of the invasion.
President Vladimir Putin had on Monday recognized Ukraine’s breakaway regions – Donetsk and Luhansk – as independent entities. Later, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Kremlin said Russia is ready to hold talks with Ukraine in Belarus even as the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been insisting on a venue in a country not taking part in military operations against his country.
“In line with the agreement, the Russian delegation consisting of representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry and other agencies, including the presidential administration, has arrived in Belarus for talks with the Ukrainians,” Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday as quoted by Media.
Russia has been facing immense criticism, especially from the western countries over the recent actions. A number of countries including the US, UK, and Germany have applied fresh rounds of sanctions on Russia.
