India administered more than 1.13 Cr vaccine doses in the last 24 hours

New Delhi: As India plans to vaccinate all the citizens by end of this year, The Union Health Ministry on Tuesday said that “In a landmark achievement, India has administered more than one crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine yesterday. India has administered 1.13 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses.”

With the administration of 1,13,53,571 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 69.90Cr (69,90,62,776) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country. The recovery of 42,942 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,22,24,937.

The Ministry said, over 53 crore vaccine doses have been administered as first dose and over 16 crore vaccine doses given as second doses.

Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said that “The month of September has started on a high note as India touched one crore COVID-19 vaccinations yesterday,”

In a tweet, Minister Mandaviya said “under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the world’s largest vaccination drive is scaling massive heights.” India’s recovery rate stands at 97.48 percentage.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 15,26,056 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 53.31 Cr cumulative tests.
