Indian Railways has fired by the passenger in New Delhi Kathgodam Shatabdi Express where they served tea reportedly in a cup with ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ printed on it.

‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign is going on twitter widely. This incident came into light after a Twitter user posted a picture of a teacup.

The post goes viral on social media and people claiming that it violates Model Code of Conduct ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.

The Indian Railways acknowledged the issue on March 29 and asked IRCTC North Zone to look into the matter. IRCTC North Zone accepted and apologized the user and even asked the details of the passengers’ train journey to take possible actions in the matter.

News agency ANI reported that Ministry of Railways on viral pic of tea being served in Shatabdi train in ‘Main bhi Chowkidar’ cups’: It happened today but immediately glasses were withdrawn. Penal action is being taken against the contractor. Action is also being taken against the supervisor.


The IRCTC official press release cited the fined of 1 lakh to Rk company associates with it.
