We are Not Politicians, We are Activists: Rakesh Tikait on BJP’s Victory in four State
New Delhi: Maybe it was unexpected for farmers’ leader Rakesh Tikait that the BJP would register the victory in four states out of five states in the assembly election. Rakesh Singh Tikait – the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union from Uttar Pradesh on the victory of BJP said that “the BJP win (despite his march to rout BJP from Uttar Pradesh) is not a loss of the Bharatiya Kisan Union. We are revolutionaries, activists. We are not politicians, so this is no win or loss for us,”
In fact, Tikait had claimed that the BJP will be routed from all 5 states that witnessed Assembly polls in February-March 2022.
From western UP, RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary was also at the centre of all attention due to its alliance with the Samajwadi Party. The SP has been able to hold his own only in this region in the recently concluded Assembly polls. Jayant Chaudhary is considered a strongman in the Badaut region, just the way Tikait holds sway over the Muzaffarnagar belt.
