Upsurge in corona: Nation reports highest cases in last week
New Delhi: The government of India steadily reported an upsurge in coronavirus cases last week which is the highest number of fresh Covid-19 cases since mid-December.
According to the analysis – a new surge in coronavirus cases in India was the sharpest weekly surge of infections since July. Around 1.5 lakh cases were reported last week which is the highest in 12 weeks since December 14 to 20.
The weekly case count has doubled in the past four weeks since the second surge of the pandemic began in the country.
On March 14 – the government reported 26386 cases which are the highest single-day total in 85 days since December 19.
Fresh data reported by the government on March 14 is a new signal for all the citizens of India. Karnataka recorded 934 fresh infections, the highest since January 8. Bengaluru Urban alone accounted for 628 infections. Gujarat reported 810 cases, the highest since December 27.
119 people were killed by the coronavirus in the country on March 14.
The Maharashtra government already announced a temporary lockdown in two districts of the state. Small businesses and the service sector are also affected in lockdown areas.
According to experts – some states’ governments may announce study from home and shut the educational activities in schools. A new lockdown could be more dangerous for the economy of the nation and affect the construction work, production, and other activities also.
