Tremblor of magnitude 4.0 jolts Afghanistan
New Delhi: An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale struck the Fayzabad region of Afghanistan on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) shared seismographs on Twitter, highlighting the affected areas.
“Earthquake of magnitude 4.0 occurred on May 17, 2022 IST on latitude 37.38 and longitude 72.28 with a depth of 100 km located 156 km East-Northeast (ENE) of Fayzabad, Afghanistan,” the NCS tweeted.
No reports of damages or casualties surfaced so far. The region is experiencing frequent earthquakes in the region since the beginning of 2022.
