New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday confirmed that the pleas related to farmers’ protest will be heard on January 11.
A bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde, which observed that there is no improvement on the ground regarding farmers’ protests.
Earlier centre said that “Healthy discussions are going on between the government and farmers over these issues.”
Farmers are on the Delhi borders to protest against three farm laws which were passed by the central government a few months back.
A bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde said that “We understand the situation and encourage consultation. We can adjourn the matters on Monday (January 11) if you submit the same due to the ongoing consultation process.”
The farmers had decided to take out a tractor rally on January 6 in opposition of the farm laws but they deferred it on January 7 due to bad weather in Capital Delhi.
The central government listed out the several benefits of new farm laws but farmers are not ready to negotiate with the government and stubborn on their demands.
Few days back – Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the farmers and said “A new farm laws which are passed by the government in parliament – will benefit the farmers and it will increase the income of the farmers.”
According to political experts “Tensions between farmers and the central government could affect the other sectors also. Vandalism of mobile towers affected the people who are working from home.”
In oppose of farm laws – some aggressive protesters had vandalized the network towers which had affected the communications services in Punjab State.
